Crime with Automatic or Assault Weapons
When is enough going to be enough? When are the people who write the laws going to get fed up and re-write them? Does a Kennedy child have to die? Or maybe a Bush child? Does the president's daughter have to get shot?
With what happened in Pittsburgh today, and Oakland two weeks ago when is a lead politician going to grow a big pair of balls and start fixing this?
In 1776 the average citizen needed a gun to protect his family and eat. Today we have Safeway and Smith's and we do NOT need a gun to eat. In 1776 the French, the British, the Spanish, and the nearby Native American tribes could attack at anytime. Today we have the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard.
There is zero reason that a citizen needs an AK-47 or most of the hand guns we have, or any automatic or assault weapon. Single shot rifles, handguns, and shotguns are fine, I don't want to take those away from hunters. But you can't hunt with these automatic or assault weapons. There is just no reason for them. The local police departments can house them, and if we are attacked-a person can drive over and get theirs out of lockup.

I have not heard this, but I would like to:
I want to see the governments of: India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, and Tajikistan all come together at the table. The armies of each country of India, China, and Tajikistan each mass on their borders to keep any rebels from escaping into those areas. Then, the armies Pakistan and Afghanistan mass north of Islamabad and northeast of Kabul respectively.
Thus forming a pocket to which the U.S. and a UN alliance can then enter the pocket and sweep it from west to east.
Kind of like surrounding a cellar on all sides, then going in and turning on the lights and turning up the heat and watch the rats run to any exits. What the UN alliance doesn't take care of, the pocket armies intercept and capture.
I know that Pakistan has had a hard time getting along with both Afghanistan and India, and that China and Tajikistan have a border dispute. But I would like to see them table or set aside those differences until after this operation is complete.
